commuknity loves kids!
We love knitting for kids. Those toys, hats, blankets and clothing for babies, toddlers and kids of all ages are so much fun to make for showers and gifts.
We love to inspire kids to become knitters and to enjoy the craft. We love the intergenerational aspect of needle arts and are thrilled when grandmothers, mothers or aunties bring their kids in to the shop to introduce them to the joy of creativity.
commuknity continues to offer a variety of programs to meet the needs of the children in our community.
Summer Fiber Craft Day Camps
Children ages 9 to 11 will have fun-filled afternoons exploring fiber crafts surrounded by yarn and inspiration at commuknity.
Knitting, needle felting, wet felting, Kool-Aid® dyeing, and jewelry making are among the activities that campers will enjoy. All knitting instruction will be individually tailored to the child’s experience and interest. Everyone will come away with finished fiber craft projects each week.
We are offering one-week sessions throughout the summer. Sessions can be repeated as many times as campers chose. A discount for consecutive sessions is available. Different projects will be offered at each camp session.
Our camps will be held in our spacious working studio in the shop. Camps run Tuesday through Friday, 1 pm to 4 pm.
Fees are $100 plus materials for one session and $190 for two consecutive sessions plus materials. All sessions include a snack. Download PDF brochure

Classes
We offer individualized instruction, in knitting and crochet, classes, workshops and special events for different age groups throughout the year.
Individualized instruction can be arranged at your convenience for your child or can be given as a Mommy/Daddy and me class if you would like to learn along with your child.
Group Classes
We also offer Groups an opportunity to come together to learn how to knit or crochet. These can be arranged with the shop to meet the needs of your particular group.
Parties
commuknity is pleased to announce that we now offer parties at the shop. We will arrange a 2 to 3 hour party in our spacious workshop to meet your child’s desires and to provide the services that will make it easy and enjoyable for you, the parents.
We are always open to suggestions about meeting your child’s needs at commuknity and hope you will be sure to let us know if we can support your children enjoying commuknity and needle arts.
